What does the company logo represent?

The logo represents “Freedom Into Music”. It is an Eagle’s claw (talon) piercing a sharp musical note and is surrounded by two angels. You will find this label in every Manea instrument. All Manea instruments are dated and signed/autograft by Master Luthier Dumitru Manea, and it makes it one-of-a-kind collectors items that will last for generations to come.

Why are there clapping hands on the back of your guitars?

They are not “clapping hands” they are a full-scale representation of the Master's hands Dumitru Manea. The original artwork was produced in charcoal. We wanted you to see the hands that produced these beautiful and incredible sounding instruments. Wouldn’t it be nice to see the hands of Antonio Stradivari that produced some of the greatest violins in the world?

Next, Dumitru's hands will be burned on by a Laser Engraving Machine.

Why don’t your guitars have a traditional bridge?

The bridge is designed to be an original, fully functioning art, not a copy of someone else’s. The design sends signals to the bracing pattern to give it a sound unlike any other in the world. The area under the saddle (about 3-1/2”) is glued wood-to-wood. The ends of the bridge are held in place with special adhesive to allow the soundboard to fluctuate freely while the guitar is played and under humidity or drought conditions.

Why do your fingerboards have extra frets and extend over the sound hole?

Master Luthier Dumitru Manea designed the steel string guitar with two full octaves (24 frets) and 22 frets on the classical guitars. I wanted to give the player more freedom, just as my logo represents, to have extra notes.

How long do I have to wait until I receive my new custom instrument?

For your one-of-a-kind collectors item instrument to be completed, it takes about 4 to 6 months. It depends on what type of instrument you ordered. It could be less than 4 months.

Did Dumitru or Manea Guitars ever been endorsed by any artist/musicians?

Yes! On October 2001 Manea Guitars and Master Luthier Dumitru Manea got the best indorsement ever. It was from the most recorded musician on the planet, guitar guru Harold Bradley. It doesn’t get any better than that.

How do I know which guitar is the right guitar for me?

The style of music you want to play, will determine the type of guitar you should purchase. For example, there is a world of difference between the sound and feel of an Electric Guitar versus an Acoustic Guitar.

How do I chose the right strings for my guitar?

Your style of music and the type of guitar you own, determine the strings you need.

You also need to consider if you want high-tension strings or low-tension strings. For example, you do not want to install Classical Guitar strings on a Steel String Guitar. You must have a Luthier or someone that knows how to do a new set-up on your guitar. Your local store could help you with that. The strings could be to low or to loosen. If you want a crisper sound, you would want high-tension strings, or low-tension strings will give you a more mellow/softer sound. Find someone to show you how to properly install the strings and how to lock the strings in place so they stay in tune. Good quality tuners also helps.

When and how do I re-condition a fingerboard or the bridge of a guitar?

Every time you replace the strings is the best time to re-condition the instrument/guitar etc. Remove and pull away the strings completely off the fingerboard/bridge, soak both with ether Fingerboard Oil or Lemon Oil and let it sit for a minute or two. Wipe excess oil off with either a dry microfiber cloth or an old T-Shirt. Do not string the instrument/guitar unless is completely dry. You never want to dampen the strings, especially the Classical Guitar strings.

What is the best way to arrange the FX Pedals on my pedalboard?

Whatever FX Pedal you want to hear clearer/louder, must be installed the last before the Amplifier. For example, if you want to get more Wah from your sound you install it last. It is the best place for the Wah anyway.

Why would I need a true bypass on any of my pedals?

With true bypass you have complete control over your sound and what pedal you want to hear. A multi-effect pedal for example, shares the same motherboard and that’s why the effects blend into each other.

Why do I need to re-condition the fingerboard or the bridge? (acoustic guitars)

Over time, it loses moisture and the natural oils out of the wood. By re-conditioning it, you keep the frets from pulling up do to the wood natural shrinking. There is no need for this step if the fingerboard or the bridge is lacquered.

What is the best way to produce a stereo sound on stage?

Even if you don’t have a stereo out, you can achieve that by placing your speakers on both sides of the stage. You need to angle them so their sound crosses, making an X. If you do this, you will find out that the sound feels like it drops from the ceiling in the middle of the room. This also applies to a “home” studio. NOTE: Do not place your speakers behind a half wall. This is the worst thing that you can do. It will lower your sound output by 50%. The air between the top of the half wall and the ceiling, it’s dead air. Muffles your sound. I happened to witness it at a Club in Atlanta Georgia. They did make the change after I mentioned it to the band. Success.

How can I become a dealer for Manea products?

First, you must have a brick-and-mortar store. There is a minimum purchase of two (2) guitars (for example), every six (6) months. You must be at least 150 miles from the nearest Manea dealer, unless you are part of a chain of stores. Contact Master Luthier Dumitru Manea for a confidential dealers package at: maneaguitars@gmail.com

How can you find out if you have an authentic Manea instrument?

There is only one way. With an inspection mirror look inside the instrument towards the bass side on the soundboard and you will see: a date, company name and Dumitru's signature/autograph. Every Manea instrument also have a label inside of it.  Like the one above.  If you just purchased a Manea instrument, fill out, detach and mail the bottom portion of your Warranty paper work to Manea Guitars. Older Manea guitars/instruments has a different label than the one above.
