Many people would assume the basic guitar has long since been designed and perfected.  As in many so-called common items, this is not the case. Since the early 1800’s people have been redesigning and refining the design of acoustic instruments. Even with this continuing effort there remains a great deal of design and research work to be done in order to develop the perfect instrument.

Manea instruments are carefully researched, designed and constructed to offer the professional musician and the serious collector some of the finest instruments available in the world.  This is done to insure that each instrument performs to the standards which the musician expects from it with a well-balanced sound that will please the most discerning ear.

As would be expected with any fine instrument, the materials used in construction play a vital role in the overall quality of the finished product. In particular, wood plays a critical role in the making of my instruments.  Every Manea instrument is built from the finest woods available on the market today.  All solid woods used are hand-picked by me. These woods are chosen on the basis of tap tone, stiffness, vertical grain and appearance. Carefully choosing the wood has a secondary benefit in that each piece of wood is different and thus will give the instrument a unique sound unmatched by any other, making it truly exceptional.

A Manea instrument must stand on its own. To compare one fine hand-crafted guitar to another is similar to comparing fine works of art. Each has distinct characteristics which set it apart from those it is compared with.  A Manea instrument is the finest made for those individuals whose needs it meets.  They satisfy a wide range of musicians due to their flexible design as they are a well-balanced sound instrument with an excellent seal and fit.  The care taken in construction is obvious to the discerning eye.

I have been told that my instruments “sing” they don’t “ring” and I said that’s because they are hearing the echoes of my soul. I put my heart and soul into these instruments when I build them.  When you purchase a Manea instrument you become part of the Manea family.
